Project Meetings

There will be several opportunities for the public to help provide insight in the master plan process. They will include public meetings at key milestones in the planning process and a series of Committee meetings.

How do I get involved?

Public Information Meetings

Two public meetings will be held during the project - the first will be an overview of the project and to gather information from the community about airport needs. The second meeting will be held to review the findings and offer an opportunity for the community to weigh in on results and initial plans. The input received during the process will guide the Authority and its consulting team in developing specific Master Plan recommendations. Each open house is intended to make it easy for the public to learn more, provide input and ask questions.

Public Meeting #1 - May 30th, 2018
More than 100 people attended the first Master Plan Update public information meeting held in May 30, 2018 at the Holiday Inn- Norfolk Airport, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The study team presented information about the ongoing Airport MPU, including the objectives of the study, the study process and information about the latest changes within the aviation industry. A meeting handout and a comment form were distributed to attendees. We received 56 comments on topics including concessions, seating areas, moving walkways and public transit. The next step will be for the team to finalize the airport existing conditions and inventory, complete aviation forecasts and review facility requirements.
